Club Pick 1

A remarkable expression of Malbec (Côt) from 80-year-old vines planted in the well-drained red clay and limestone terraces of Cahors. Crafted by Gilles Bley, this wine defies the region's typical heavy style, offering a brighter, fruit-driven profile with silky tannins and deep complexity. Aged for two years in 600-liter wooden tanks, it’s a smooth, elegant wine that can be enjoyed now or aged further.
Fun Fact: Gilles Bley’s family has been growing grapes in Cahors for generations, and his estate showcases a lighter, more delicate side of the region’s traditionally bold and brooding wines.

An organic red from Roussillon made with Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre grown on clay and stone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and co-fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, with whole-bunch Mourvèdre layered under destemmed Grenache. After a short maceration, the wine finishes fermentation in tank and rests for 6 months on fine lees in stainless steel and fiberglass. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulfur, it is juicy, earthy, and fresh, with soft structure and a stony finish.

A carbonic Pinot Noir from the certified organic Palmiet Vineyard, planted on Koue Bokkeveld shale at 1,000 feet. Whole clusters undergo 14 days of native fermentation in sealed one-ton fermenters, then age for 12 months in a 25hL concrete egg with full lees. An unfined, unfiltered Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that’s both lively and structured, proving that "serious" and "fun" can coexist in the same glass. Crafted from 40-year-old vines in the Cancelli vineyard, this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with a brief 4-day skin maceration, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks without added sulfur.

The Mataró plot is planted on clay, limestone, and loam soils. Spontaneously fermented with 8 days of maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and 6 months of aging in 500-liter chestnut barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur.

A skin contact Pinot Grigio from steep marl slopes in the Vipava Valley, farmed organically without irrigation. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and acacia, with about a week of maceration on skins. Aging in both steel and acacia adds texture while keeping the wine lifted and savory. Bottled unfiltered, it shows a balance of gentle tannin, bright fruit, and earthy depth.
