An organic red from Roussillon made with Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre grown on clay and stone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and co-fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, with whole-bunch Mourvèdre layered under destemmed Grenache. After a short maceration, the wine finishes fermentation in tank and rests for 6 months on fine lees in stainless steel and fiberglass. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulfur, it is juicy, earthy, and fresh, with soft structure and a stony finish.

Red cherry, raspberry, plum, wild herbs, earth, spice, stony minerality, fine tannins

About Domaine Lampyres

Domaine Lampyres is a family estate in Espira de l'Agly, Roussillon, led by fourth-generation vigneron François-Xavier "F.X." Dauré. After years working alongside Tom Lubbe at Matassa, F.X. took over his family's vineyards in 2015 and began converting them to organic farming. He launched Domaine Lampyres in 2016 with just 600 bottles made in his garage, before gradually building a dedicated cellar and bottling more of the family's fruit. Today, he farms organically with a minimal-intervention approach, producing vibrant, terroir-driven wines that have become some of Roussillon's most exciting new expressions.

About the Region

Roussillon, France

In the rugged landscapes of Roussillon, natural winemaking is a testament to the region's wild beauty and rich viticultural heritage. Tucked away in the southeastern corner of France, bordering Spain and the Mediterranean Sea, Roussillon boasts a diverse terroir of rocky hillsides, sun-drenched plains, and coastal breezes. Here, amidst ancient vineyards, winemakers embrace organic and biodynamic farming practices, cultivating indigenous grape varieties such as Grenache Noir, Carignan, and Mourvèdre with care and respect for the land. In the cellar, minimal intervention is the guiding principle, with spontaneous fermentations and aging in neutral vessels allowing the true expression of the grapes and terroir to shine through. The resulting natural wines from Roussillon are a reflection of the region's rugged beauty, with their bold flavors, intense aromas, and a sense of place that captures the spirit of this enchanting corner of France.
