Crafted by winemaker Kosie Van Der Merwe, this Cabernet Franc from Elgin showcases the region's cool nights and moderate days, perfect for slow ripening. The grapes were harvested in two batches, ensuring optimal ripeness. The wine was made using 40% whole bunch clusters and 60% destemmed grapes, with natural fermentation lasting three weeks. After fermentation, the wine was basket-pressed and aged in 400L and 300L barrels. Fun Fact: Cabernet Franc is known for its versatility and distinctive green pepper notes. In the cooler climate of Elgin, this grape develops a unique balance of ripe fruit flavors and fresh herbal characteristics, making it a favorite among wine enthusiasts for its complexity and food-friendly profile.

Club Pick 4

A chillable, blush-leaning red from Gilroy made with a mix of skin-fermented and direct-pressed fruit. Black Muscat ferments on skins for two weeks, while Petite Sirah and Torrontes are pressed directly, all fermented with native yeasts. Aged seven months on fine lees in neutral oak and stainless steel, then lightly filtered with low sulfur at bottling, the wine stays soft, fruit-forward, and easy to drink with minimal structure and plenty of freshness.
