Club Pick 1
Calafata 'Scapigliato' is a vibrant red wine from the charming hills of Lucca in Tuscany. The name "Scapigliato" means "disheveled," reflecting the wine's stylishly rustic character. This unique co-fermentation of Moscato di Amburgo, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Aleatico creates a wine with fresh red fruits, balsamic undertones, and a zesty floral finish. Spontaneously fermented and aged in cement tanks, the wine is a true expression of the land, with organic and biodynamic practices at its core.
Fun Fact: Calafata is not just a winery; it's a social cooperative that helps at-risk youth and individuals looking for a fresh start in life. Founded by ten friends with no prior farming experience, this cooperative blends their passion for wine with a strong social mission, making their wines as meaningful as they are delicious.

Domaine de l'Accent 'Una Notte' 2023 is a vibrant expression of Grenache Noir, sourced from 40-year-old vines growing on a limestone and stony plateau at 350 meters altitude. The wine undergoes a short one-night maceration, allowing for a spontaneous fermentation with just a hint of skin contact. Aged for 5 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks, this wine captures the essence of the Terrasses du Larzac region with its fresh, herbal notes and bright fruit flavors, showcasing a unique mountain twist on classic Grenache.
Fun Fact: The name "Una Notte," meaning "one night" in Italian, nods to the brief maceration time the Grenache Noir grapes undergo, as well as winemaker Konrad Pixner's Italian heritage. This short maceration imparts a delicate color and a lively freshness to the wine, making it a distinctive take on Grenache.

Kompot 2021 is a light, easy-drinking red wine made from a blend of Zweigeltrebe, Dornfelder, and Blauer Portugieser grapes. The grapes are grown in vineyards with loess subsoil, topped with varying levels of sand and humus, and planted in the 1990s with a south/southwest exposure. Half of the grapes are pressed immediately as whole bunches (blanc de noir style), while the other half undergoes fermentation in open tanks with maceration on the skins for 3-4 weeks. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in older French oak barrels. The final blend is unfined, unfiltered, and made without added sulfur, resulting in a fresh, vibrant red that can be enjoyed cool or at room temperature.
Fun Fact: The name "Kompot" is inspired by a traditional Eastern European fruit compote, reflecting the wine's light, fruity character and its easy, refreshing nature—perfect for casual sipping on any occasion.

The finish is clean and invigorating, leaving a lasting impression of ripe red fruits.

Sourced from a parcel in the renowned Grille-Midi vineyard, known for its 50-year-old vines planted on pink granite soil. The grapes are organically farmed by Thibault himself and are hand-harvested before undergoing traditional whole-bunch carbonic maceration. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation and 8 months of aging on fine lees in old barriques. With no fining, no filtration, and only a minimal addition of sulfur at bottling, this wine showcases the pure expression of the terroir. It’s floral, fresh, and fascinating, with a well-built palate and a vivid, succulent finish.
Fun Fact: Fleurie is one of the ten crus of Beaujolais, known for producing some of the most elegant and aromatic wines in the region. The pink granite soils of the Grille-Midi vineyard contribute to the wine’s distinctive minerality and vibrant acidity, making it a highly sought-after terroir for Gamay.

Decadence has never been so drinkable! A fascinating Jura blend of Savagnin, which spends some time under “flor” (i.e., a layer of yeast that forms over the top of some wines and brings out intriguing flavors), and Chardonnay that’s done in a more Burgundian style (in Jura you would say it's "ouillé"). The resulting wine highlights the strengths of each component, while forming something totally singular. This bottle is rich, nutty, spiced like curry… yet also bright, fresh, with a spine of minerality. Drink while eating like a 19th-century French aristocrat: sweetbreads, liver paté, duck breast. Also sublime alongside virtually any cheese.
