A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

March in the red club brings together wines that feel lively, expressive, and grounded in place. This month’s selection leans toward freshness and balance, highlighting reds that carry plenty of character without feeling heavy. They show how red wines can be both structured and energetic, offering depth while remaining easy to return to.

The lineup moves across a range of styles, from bright and fruit-driven bottles to reds with a little more earth and quiet structure. Some lean into juicy red fruit and lifted aromatics, while others unfold with subtle spice, gentle tannins, and a sense of place that builds slowly in the glass. The contrast adds dimension while still keeping the overall feel cohesive.

These are wines that fit comfortably into everyday moments. A bottle opened with friends, something to pour alongside a relaxed dinner, or a glass enjoyed on its own at the end of the day. They are expressive without being overwhelming and versatile enough to move easily from casual meals to more thoughtful pairings.

As always, these wines come from growers who work with care and patience in both vineyard and cellar. Their focus on thoughtful farming and minimal intervention allows each wine to reflect the grapes and landscapes they come from.

Thank you for continuing to explore these bottles with us and for supporting producers who value authenticity, balance, and a strong connection to the land.

Here’s to good company, generous pours, and many memorable glasses along the way.

Cheers,
Holly

Domaine Bersan is a family estate based in the village of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux in northern Burgundy. The winery is known for its historic network of 11th-century underground cellars, originally built by monks and still used today for aging and fermenting the wines.

Jean-Louis Bersan and his father, Jean-Christophe, began farming the estate organically in 2009, achieving certification in 2012 and gradually incorporating biodynamic practices across their 22 hectares of vineyards.

The family focuses on traditional Burgundian varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as local grapes like Aligoté and Sauvignon Blanc. With hand harvesting, native fermentations, and minimal sulfur at bottling, the wines emphasize freshness, precision, and the distinct terroir of the Saint-Bris area.
