Partida Creus Winemaker Penedes Spain
Partida Creus - Penedès, Spain

Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, an Italian couple hailing from Piedmont, have embarked on a remarkable winemaking journey in Massís de Bonastre, nestled in the Baix Penedés region. Their mission? To revive neglected old vines and lesser-known grape varietals, transforming them into treasures of extreme quality and concentration. Embracing organic farming practices, they cultivate their plots with care, yielding grapes of exceptional character. In the cellar, they practice the art of minimal intervention winemaking, allowing native yeasts to guide fermentation and refraining from adding any additives, fining, or filtration, eschewing even the addition of SO2.

Clos Lentiscus
Clos Lentiscus - Penedès, Spain

Manel Arinyó, affectionately dubbed the "bubble man," is crafting some of the most captivating sparkling wines, not just within Spain but on a global scale.

A blind tasting of Clos Lentiscus could easily lead one to believe they were savoring grower Champagne. Pepe Raventós of Raventós i Blanc ardently champions the Penedès terroir, asserting its capacity to yield sparkling wines of remarkable mineral character that rival the world's finest. Manel's Clos Lentiscus cuvées provide compelling evidence in support of Pepe's assertion.

In 2001, following their father's passing, Manel and his brother Joan returned to their family's venerable 14th-century estate, Can Ramon.

Microbio Winemaker
MicroBio - Castilla y Leon, Spain

Welcome to the República Independiente del Verdejo, led by President Ismael Gozalo. Ismael is renowned for his tenure at Ossian, a respected winery in Rueda, where he served as the winegrower and maker since its establishment in 2004. His family possesses some of the oldest ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines, aged between 100 to 200 years, primarily located in Nieva, Segovia province, at altitudes ranging from 800 to 900 meters. These head-trained vines, thriving in sandy soils, have been meticulously tended by generations without any chemical intervention. Despite being outside the D.O. due to their steadfast commitment to traditional methods, Ossian remains one of the few organic producers in Rueda.
