A Word From Our Founder

Hey there,

The 12-bottle club this month is packed with variety — reds, whites, rosés, and more that stretch across the spectrum. It’s a lineup built for curiosity, with bottles that move from playful and juicy to structured and thoughtful, from zippy freshness to deeper, slower sips.

Inside, you’ll find:
– Reds that range from bright and easy-drinking to soulful and complex
– Rosés that deliver both crisp refreshment and a touch of depth
– Whites that balance lift, texture, and energy
– A little sparkle and some skin-contact intrigue to round things out

It’s the perfect mix for sharing, exploring, or simply having the right bottle on hand no matter the occasion.

With warmth (and a full glass),
– Holly

Club Pick 1

An organic, balanced, and juicy Gamay from the schist and quartz soils of Anjou, France. Terre de L’Élu withdrew from the Anjou AOP in 2018, stepping away from the appellation regulations and into the freedom of winemaking choices. The result of this intentional move? A minimal intervention, easy-to-enjoy wine, with that classic, charming Loire Valley elegance

Chicken banh mi, a sausage flatbread, and loaded sweet potato and black bean tacos

Juicy raspberry, strawberry, rose petals and earthy herbs. Lighter in body with a high acidity, gentle tannic grip, and slightly savory finish

At Les Terres Blanches, sustainability is woven into every aspect of their operation, from cultivating local partnerships to conscientiously managing resources. They prioritize local suppliers for hay, meadow rotations, and seed collection, fostering a symbiotic relationship with the community. By sharing their Gamay de Bouze plots with organic medicinal plant producers, they exchange resources, promoting biodiversity and mutual support. Embracing circularity, they utilize recycled Burgundy bottles and natural cork stoppers sourced from organic or FSC-certified suppliers. These mindful practices underscore their commitment to environmental stewardship and holistic balance, reflecting a harmonious integration of tradition and innovation in winemaking.

Club Pick 3

A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre that was born to chill. Refreshing red and blue fruits, lifted by a lively acidity, and complemented by an herbal edge. Indigenous yeast fermentation makes her au naturel, with minimal filtering and additions of SO2 before bottling

Since founding his domaine in 2001, Olivier Pithon has become one of the benchmark growers in the rugged hills of Calce, in France’s Roussillon region. Working organically from the start and fully biodynamic since 2010, Olivier farms roughly 19 hectares of schist, marl, and limestone soils, aided by cows, bees, and an unwavering respect for living ecosystems.

In the cellar, fermentations rely on native yeasts, sulfur use is minimal, and élevage takes place in concrete, stainless steel, or neutral wood—always with the goal of expressing the freshness, depth, and energy of Calce’s terroir. His flagship wines, including the Laïs series (named for his beloved cow) and Mon P’tit Pithon (a more playful, early-drinking line), showcase Mediterranean varieties.

Club Pick 4

A vibrant red blend from Domaine Bordes, crafted from 30% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carignan, and 20% Mourvèdre. This cuvée, sourced from six separate parcels, highlights the unique clay-limestone soils of Saint-Chinian. Aged for 10 months in steel tanks, this wine balances fresh blackberry aromas and earthy undertones, with a savory finish that invites another sip.

Roasted lamb, grilled vegetables, and hearty stews.

Without formal training, Philippe and Emma immersed themselves in books, observed other producers, and learned from their mistakes. "It’s a bit like poker," Philippe remarked. "You dearly pay one or two times, then you watch out! This is the basis of learning." They released their first vintage in 2001 after acquiring several plots. From the outset, they embraced biodynamics, earning organic certification in 2008 and becoming one of fifteen organic producers in Saint-Chinian.

Nestled amidst the 'garigue', their vineyards are isolated and teeming with biodiversity. Most plots are plowed by horse, and the family creates their own compost. They manage low yields to encourage the vines' natural immune defense.

Club Pick 5

A bold, expressive red with serious presence. This bottle is all about intensity — dark berries, cracked pepper, and a touch of smokiness wrapped in smooth tannins and fresh acidity. Grown and made with care in the south of France, it’s a wine built for depth and drinkability.

Serve it alongside grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or rich chocolate desserts. Unfussy, full-flavored, and built to impress without trying too hard.

Grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

Aromas of dark berries, a hint of pepper, and a touch of smokiness. The palate is bold and expressive, with fine tannins and a lingering finish.

Club Pick 6

An unfined, unfiltered Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that’s both lively and structured, proving that "serious" and "fun" can coexist in the same glass. Crafted from 40-year-old vines in the Cancelli vineyard, this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with a brief 4-day skin maceration, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks without added sulfur.

Pecorino Romano cheese, grilled lamb chops, and couscous.

Blackberry, dark cherry, crushed plum, and hints of earth and herbs. Fine tannins and a medium body create a balance between refined and refreshing.

Rabasco wines aren’t just wines—they’re a story of tradition, passion, and pure joy. Gabrielle Wines follows a holistic, eco-conscious approach to viticulture, incorporating many organic principles throughout the vineyard. Every step begins with a detailed soil analysis to determine precise nutrient needs, followed by the use of mineral-based, microbially seeded fertilizers applied as required. This holistic philosophy ensures that soil and plant health work together as the first line of defense, fostering balance and vitality in both the vineyard ecosystem and the wines themselves.
