A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

December feels like the perfect moment to go all in. It is a month filled with gatherings, reflections, and a desire to linger just a little longer at the table. The 12 Club captures that spirit, offering a full, generous selection designed to carry you through the season and into the new year.

To our longtime 12 Club members, thank you for your deep trust and continued enthusiasm for exploration. This club is built for those who love range, discovery, and the joy of opening something different on any given night. And to everyone joining the 12 Club for the first time this month, welcome. We are truly excited to have you and cannot wait for you to experience the depth and variety this club offers.

This month’s collection spans a wide spectrum of styles, textures, and moods. You will find bottles that feel bright and refreshing, others that are grounding and soulful, and some that invite curiosity and contemplation. It is a lineup that works just as well for celebratory meals as it does for quiet evenings at home, giving you options for whatever the season brings.

The 12 Club is about abundance with intention. Each bottle has a purpose, and together they reflect our commitment to small producers, thoughtful farming, and wines that feel alive and expressive. These are wines meant to be shared generously, revisited over time, and enjoyed across many moments.

As the year comes to a close, we hope this shipment brings warmth, joy, and connection into your home. Thank you for being part of the MYSA community and for supporting independent growers around the world with every club delivery.

Wishing you a joyful December and a beautiful start to the year ahead.

Cheers,
Holly

Château L'ESCART stands as a testament to a centuries-old winemaking legacy, deeply rooted in traditional agricultural heritage. Located at the gateway to Bordeaux, its 37-hectare vineyard, comprising a single block with vines averaging 43 years, reflects a profound dedication to authenticity. The unique clay-limestone soil, a hallmark since 1752, imparts unparalleled quality to the wines.

The vineyard's strategic location on a clay-limestone plateau ensures Château L'ESCART wines embody freshness, length, and distinction. The limestone contributes to the wines' elegance, while the clay adds strength and density—hallmark characteristics of the finest Bordeaux wines.

Hugo Mendes trained as a biomedical engineer, but in 2004 he discovered his true calling in winemaking. After years working in cellars and consulting across Portugal, he launched his own project in 2016, starting with a small batch of friend’s grapes and pre-selling wine over social media to fund the bottling. Based in Alenquer, north of Lisbon, Hugo focuses on indigenous grapes and natural freshness, crafting wines that capture the vibrant, chalky-clay soils and sunny, slightly Mediterranean climate of Lisboa. His wines are both expressive of their terroir and effortlessly drinkable, reflecting his creativity, passion, and commitment to a new generation of Portuguese winemaking.
