A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

This month's Red Club takes us on a journey through four incredible wine regions that deserve more attention. From the Mediterranean coast of France to Chile's historic vineyards and the rugged landscapes of Croatia and Serbia, these bottles celebrate growers who are crafting expressive wines with a true sense of place.

One of the things I love most about this lineup is how each wine tells a different story. You'll find bright, energetic reds alongside deeper, more structured bottles, making this a collection that's as fun to explore as it is to share around the table.

Whether you're firing up the grill, gathering friends for dinner, or simply unwinding with a glass after a long day, I hope these wines inspire a little adventure and introduce you to a few new favorites.

As always, thank you for supporting independent growers and for being part of the MYSA community.

Cheers,

Holly

Olivier Cohen, a dynamic winemaker hailing from the Hérault region in the Languedoc near Montpellier, is the visionary behind Les Vignes d’Olivier. His repertoire boasts an exquisite rosé and an array of captivating red wines.

Initially immersed in the wine-selling scene, Olivier's journey took a pivotal turn while working at renowned natural wine bars like La Part des Anges in Nice and Vinivore nearby. It was here that his ardor for natural winemaking ignited, propelling him towards his own viticultural pursuit.

Seeking mentorship and hands-on experience, Olivier ventured to Corsica to collaborate with the esteemed Antoine Arena.

Roberto Henríquez's journey in winemaking began with studies in agronomy and enology at the University of Concepción. His path led him across the globe, collaborating with winemakers in Canada, South Africa, and culminating in the Loire Valley alongside Rene Mosse. Under Mosse's tutelage, Roberto underwent a transformative shift towards organic and biodynamic farming practices. Employing carbonic maceration and aging in old Rauli wood barrels, his wines emerge as light-bodied, translucent, yet richly nuanced expressions of character.

Sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Dingač and Postup, this Plavac Mali comes from younger vines and an earlier harvest, giving the wine a fresher, more elegant expression of Croatia's flagship red grape. The grapes are hand-harvested, naturally fermented in open vats with gentle punchdowns, then aged for 10 months in used French oak before resting in bottle for a year prior to release. Rich and earthy with balanced freshness, it captures the rugged character of the Dalmatian coast.

You ever stumble on something so wild, so beautifully unexpected, that you just pause and think—how is this real? That’s Stara Kupaža. A red wine born from the lush, rolling hills of Timok, Serbia.

This bottle is a field blend fever dream—we're talking Prokupac, Blaufränkisch, Začinjak, Vranac, Crna Tamjanika, Pinot Noir, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Riesling all dancing together. Yes, red and white grapes!

This is ancestral winemaking at its finest. Zero intervention. Just grapes, wild yeast, and time.

Eggplant parm or a big ol’ plate of lasagna, smashburger, grilled portobellos, or Thanksgiving leftovers. This wine isn’t picky. It just wants to hang.

Right off the bat, you get this lifted, juicy burst—wild berries, crushed violets, a little black tea edge and this almost savory note that keeps pulling you back in (like that one moody song you always put on repeat). The texture? Dreamy. It’s got that silky-soft grip, like suede on your tongue, with just enough wildness to keep things exciting. Finishes like a forest breeze after rain. It's soulful, not showy. Unexpected, yet totally familiar.

Where the vines are wild, the wines are soulful, and life slows down just enough to feel it.

Tucked into the sun-drenched hills of Italy’s Adriatic coast, Tenuta Est isn’t just a winery—it’s a heartbeat. A place where nature leads, people listen, and wine is made with that rare mix of intuition, grit, and grace. This is a project born out of deep gratitude for the land, a little rebellious spirit, and a whole lotta love.

At Tenuta Est, they don’t follow trends—they follow the seasons. Every bottle reflects the joy of slowing down, the magic of imperfection, and the quiet confidence that comes from doing things your own way. No additives, no overthinking, no fuss—just honest wine with soul.

From their fresh, punchy whites to reds that feel like your favorite worn-in sweatshirt, everythin
