A Word From Our Founder

We have all kinds of great options in this month's club and there is a not so subtle V-day theme throughout! Reds to go with foods you may want to eat (or just ones that feel the love - Ti Adoro, For Me). Also apologies for the card with the Bombisch! Last vintage it was a red and this year it is a white and we didn't know till it arrived at the warehouse! So we will be making that right for everyone if we haven't already :)

“Baby Pinot Noir,” or BPN, is made from young Pinot vines and stands as a testament to Germany’s winemaking prowess. Despite the finicky nature of Pinot Noir, Max Dexheimer has perfected its expression in the Rheinhessen terroir, creating a light, bright, and balanced wine with a harmonious fruit profile—an exceptional companion for any table

Max Dexheimer, with a fond smile, gestures towards the barrel sample of his Pinot Noir, reflecting on the unique character of his vineyard's wine. Despite its intense concentration and smoky notes, he assures us it's not oak-induced; rather, it's the essence of the terroir itself. Inherited traditional Stückfass barrels, passed down through generations, play a pivotal role in shaping the wine's distinct personality. Max attributes this signature smokiness to the vineyard's rich, iron-laden soil, a distinguishing feature from his other plots. Nestled beneath his family's home lies his old cellar, where these wines mature, reflecting his unwavering commitment to quality. As a Pinot enthusiast, Max understands the importance of patience, allowing the wine ample time to evolve and soften.
