Producer Profile

Salcheto

Three decades have unfurled since Salcheto emerged as a viticultural endeavor, transitioning from a multifaceted farm to a beacon of high-quality, innovative winemaking. Guided by Michele Manelli since 1997, our company celebrates its three-decade milestone with a renewed image that mirrors our evolution and accomplishments: locally rooted wines, predominantly Sangiovese, renowned for their approachability and aromatic finesse; vinification processes entirely devoid of sulfites and reliant on indigenous yeasts; and our signature "Obvius" Red, Rosé, White, and Vendemmia Tardiva wines, tracing their journey from grape to bottle.

Where The Wines Come From

Tuscany

Tuscany, located in central Italy, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, historic towns, and world-class wines. In recent years, the region has also become a focal point for natural winemaking. With its diverse terroir, including hillsides, valleys, and coastal areas, Tuscany provides an ideal environment for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in Tuscany prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating native grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Trebbiano, and Vernaccia with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that showcase the region's rich history and unique terroir. Tuscany's natural wines are known for their elegance, balance, and complexity, with reds offering ripe fruit flavors, firm tannins, and a sense of place that reflects the region's sun-drenched vineyards and rolling hills. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Tuscany remains a leader in the natural wine movement, offering a taste of Italy's rich cultural heritage and winemaking traditions with each bottle.
