Where The Wines Come From

Périgord

Périgord, located in the southwest of France, is celebrated for its picturesque countryside, medieval towns, and culinary delights. In recent years, the region has also gained recognition for its commitment to natural winemaking. With its diverse soils, including limestone, clay, and gravel, Périgord offers an ideal terroir for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in the region prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating indigenous grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that reflect the unique character of the land. Périgord's natural wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and expression of fruit flavors, with Merlot offering velvety texture and ripe berry notes, Cabernet Franc contributing aromatic complexity and structure, and Malbec adding depth and spice. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Périgord remains a key contributor to France's natural wine movement, offering a taste of its rich cultural heritage and passion for quality winemaking with every bottle.
