A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

This month’s Orange Club explores skin-contact wines from southeastern Europe and southern France. The lineup brings together native grapes, thoughtful farming, and a range of textures, from bright and aromatic to deeper and more savory.

Expect fresh fruit, gentle tannins, herbal notes, and plenty of versatility at the table. These are bottles made for curious drinkers, relaxed meals, and sharing with friends.

Cheers,

Holly

Club Pick 3

This wine is exactly as the name "Bouche du Soleil" suggests—a “Mouthful of Sunshine”. Fresh and textured with notes of citrus, stone fruit, and a mineral edge. Fine lees aging adds depth and texture, creating a medium body with weight but no heaviness, and a bright acidity keeps things balanced and bright

Shrimp tacos, roasted red pepper hummus, prosciutto-wrapped melon, and aged comté cheese

Lush stone fruit, meyer lemons, crisp green apple, citrus zest, and white lilies. A slightly waxy texture and gentle grip from lees aging, and a bright yet balanced acidity

Les Enfants Sauvages, meaning “wild children,” is a small, soulful domaine in the Roussillon region of Southern France, founded in 2004 by Carolin and Nikolaus Bantlin. Originally from Germany, the couple left behind city life to follow their hearts—and the sun—to a peaceful corner near the Mediterranean.

Drawn by the beauty of the land and its winemaking history, they’ve built a home and a vineyard guided by nature. Everything here is farmed organically and biodynamically, with a deep respect for the rhythms of the earth. Out of their 15-hectare property, 10 are devoted to vines, with the rest left to olive trees, wild herbs, and open space—a place where life thrives.

Their wines are honest, expressive, and full of character—just like the people who make them.

Club Pick 4

An enchanting orange wine crafted from equal parts Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris. This aromatic wine undergoes 15 days of skin contact with de-stemmed grapes, resulting in mellow, well-integrated tannins. The vibrant profile is marked by intense tropical and citrus notes, delivering a refreshing and exotic drinking experience.

Spicy dishes, grilled vegetables, and light seafood.

Tropical fruit, exotic notes, and bright citrus, with subtle tannins adding depth and structure.

Saint-So is a joint project with François Ducrot, the skilled winemaker known as the "magician of vinification" from Domaine Enclos de La Croix. A few years ago, Ducrot noticed that many talented local organic farmers in Aspiran, a region west of Montpellier, were selling their grapes to co-ops for bulk wine production. Seeing this wasted potential, François decided to purchase these grapes and create a negoce that would highlight the vibrant wines from this lesser-known terroir of Languedoc.

In August 2019, we proposed to Ducrot the idea of vinifying a 100% Cinsault, a rare varietal often used for rosé or blending but one of our favorites for its light and energetic character. Cinsault has thin skins and large berries compared to other varietals like Grenache.
