A Thousand Gods is a New Zealand wine producer led by Simon and Lauren, who have extensive experience in wine-making, including a decade in France's Cahors region and over forty vintages in nine countries. They focus on crafting biodynamic and natural wines in partnership with a grower in Marlborough's Waihopai Valley. Anders Frederik Steen, renowned as a chef, sommelier (with Noma!), restaurateur, activist, and now winemaker, has carved a unique path in the world of wine, particularly focusing on natural, eclectic wines from France's Ardèche region since 2013. Collaborating with Jean-Marc Brignot initially, he established the label Foxy Foxy Nature Wildlife before venturing into his eponymous wines. His unconventional approach encompasses spontaneous fermentation in open-top containers, emphasizing a hands-on process that begins with tasting each grape variety at harvest.

Nacho, also known as Ignacio Pino Román, breaks the mold of your typical winemaker. In Chile's Itata Valley, he's on a mission to revive age-old traditions. Instead of relying on modern equipment and chemical shortcuts, Nacho champions the old ways. He roams Coelemu, collaborating with small growers who tend to their ancient vines naturally, without harsh chemicals. In his cellar, simplicity reigns supreme - stainless steel, clay, and neutral wood are the tools of his trade. With no unnecessary additives, Nacho's focus is on allowing the unique character of the Itata Valley and its grapes to shine through in every bottle of his "natural wine." It's a recipe for something truly special, don't you think?

Club Pick 4

The wine's balanced acidity keeps it fresh and lively, while the minimal tannins ensure a smooth mouthfeel.
