Welcome to the March 12 Bottle Club from MYSA Natural Wine!
A note from our founder:
Spring is around the corner! (Unless you live in Western Mass like us and lost power in the snow storm, in which case we're still skiing lol!) We have a mix that feels like spring with lighter reds and food friendly whites, then we have some aged orange and reds that will make you go WOW! People say all the time you can't age natural wine and this wine is proof that that is some BS! Also as 12 members you have 2 really special wines with Cric Cric and Hupnos that no other club got, so I hope you enjoy!!

About El Grano
"The Domaine is planted at 3200 vines per hectare, the grape varieties are Carménère in red and Chardonnay in white. Chile is the only country in the world whose vineyards are not affected by phylloxera. Many explanations have been put forward but none has been 100% validated. So the mystery remains. This unique characteristic allows the Domaine to favor mass selection over clonal selection, and therefore to maintain authenticity in the final product, as was still the case in France 150 years ago." - El Grano

She started the 2 Anes winery in the year 2000. -Jenny & Francois

All our vineyards are organically grown; we supervise our vines, exercising a minimum of control following biodynamic principles. - Zev Rovine

About Compañón Arrieta
Their estate is made up of 4 ha spread across 17 mini parcels, all of which bush pruned vines averaging 50 years of age under organic certification. These vineyards have been in their family for three generations but it wasn’t until 1982 that they built their bodega and started making wine. Unfortunately they weren’t bottling it, but selling it in bulk to some of the bigger houses like CVNE, El Coto, Marqués de Riscal, etc. In 2010, with Gorka and Itxaso at the helm, they started bottling their own wines under the Herrigoia label. The name is a reference to the part of Lanciego where their bodega and most of their vineyards are located. In Basque herri means town and goia means up, translated let’s just say it means uptown higher grounds resulting in fresh wines with great acidity. - Selections de la Vina

About Estezargues
Estézargues was established in 1965 and, as early as the 1980s, shifted towards natural winemaking thanks to the arrival of Jean-François Nicq, a talented winemaker influenced by the ideas of natural wine legends like Marcel Lapierre. Nicq (now making wine in his own boutique Domaine des Foulards Rouges in Roussillon) put the cave firmly on track towards respectful farming and practically no additives in the cellar. No commercial yeast, no enzymes, no gum arabic, no acidifiers, and also almost no sulfur. “We use a minimal amount of SO2 at bottling if needed, to make sure the wines are safe even when exported overseas, but that’s it,” says Armelle Rouault, Estézargues’ congenial current CEO and winemaker as we chat on Google Meet, the tasting room of Covid-19 times. - Jenny & Francois

About Viña Echeverria
Originally established to produce bulk wines, in 1990, the winery was converted to produce quality wines for export. In the following years, Echeverria was one of the few boutique wineries to emerge from Chile, and the first family winery from Chile to sell wine to Harrods in London. Eventually, the family started purchasing grapes, to compliment and build complexity to their wines. "We realized that to succeed and be different, we needed to be open," says Roberto Echeverria, the Technical Director Chief Winemaker, who's first solo vintage appeared on the market in 2001. With sustainable practices in the vineyard, Echevarria produces a wine for most every palate, while embracing a philosophy that's based on consistency. - T Edwards

About Celler Les Foes
"He (Roger) works with old vines of Monastrell and Macabeu but most of his production comes from about 3 hectares of vines he planted in 2009 making 2014 his first vintage. The soils in the region are composed mostly of clay loam and in certain areas there’s a calcareous rock layer called tapaz giving all of his wines chalky texture and minerality. All of his vineyards are farmed organically and treated with biodynamic preparations following the lunar calendar." - Selections de la Vina

About Les Tetes
Les Tètes is focused on bringing fresh and fruity competitively-priced wines that are grown organically and fermented with native yeasts and with only minimal sulfur added. In their own words, “Les Tétes is about friendship, and wines you drink with friends.” Les Tètes are produced at Le Pressoir, in the village of Panzoult. The vineyards are near Honoré de Balzac’s birthplace and Alexander Calder’s workshop, in the unspoiled landscape surrounding Château de Rigny-Ussé. The grapes of “Les Tètes Au Bois Dormant” (sparkling rosé and white) come directly from the domain of Château de Rigny-Ussé. “Les Parcelles” by Les Tètes are produced in very small quantities, on parcels (less then one hectar) among the most select AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controllée/controlled designation of origin) in Touraine. - Zev Rovine

About Sous Le Vegetal
Sous le Végétal is a collaborative wine project between Jason Ligas of Domaine Ligas and Patrick Bouju of Domaine la Bohéme. This project finds them on the beautiful island of Samos in Greece, located one mile off the coast of Turkey. Sous le Végétal actively avoids the industrial farming practices that dominate winemaking in Greece and have opted to do extensive work in the vineyards to restore a healthy permaculture for their vines and the rich assortment of volcanic soils. Their farming practices are biodynamic and organic, down to the utilization of herbs and natural balms to heal and protect the vines. -Zev Rovine Selections

About Clos Lentiscus
"Manel Arinyó (aka the bubble man) is making some of the most exciting sparkling wines—not just in Spain but in the world. If you were to blindly taste Clos Lentiscus, it is a real probability that you’d think you were tasting grower Champagne. Pepe Raventós from Raventós i Blanc is a strong advocate that the Penedès terroir produces sparkling wines of profound mineral expression that can compete with the best in the world; Manel’s Clos Lentiscus cuvées greatly support Pepe’s case. In 2001, Manel and his brother Joan returned to their family’s 14th century estate Can Ramon after the death of their father. Conventionally farming the land, their father sold the fruit instead of commercially selling wine. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Can Ramon had a successful history of selling wine to France and the American colonies (factors such as the Spanish Civil War, phylloxera and industrialization ultimately lead to its decline). Clos Lentiscus was created to recover the brilliance the estate once enjoyed and to continue the work of past generations.

Pairings: Pork, Rich Fish, Pork Dumplings
Serving Instructions: 45°- 50°F
About Ziniel
If you put down a ball with us, it will stay where it is. That's because we're at the lowest point in Austria, so nothing moves without a nudge. We too are completely at peace here and in the middle of the universe .This is due to the innate fascination for the far-flung landscape with 360 degrees of all-round visibility and 180 degrees of sky. In that sense, we're more Buddhists than Rolling Stones. Free spirits, not city frocks. This also characterizes our wines, which tell of it in their very own way. Depending on origin and gradation, very simple and down-to-earth , straightforward and typical or stubborn, unmistakable and free . - Ziniel
