A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

The six bottle club lives in a more focused space. It is about clarity rather than abundance, about choosing a handful of bottles that feel considered and complete without excess. This is a selection for people who like a little direction but still want room to explore.

This month’s lineup moves comfortably between light and grounded, fresh and expressive. There are reds with ease and energy, whites that feel open and textured, and bottles that blur the line between categories in the best way. Nothing here feels heavy or demanding. Each wine brings its own personality, but together they feel balanced and thoughtful.

These are wines that fit naturally into everyday moments. A bottle opened midweek without ceremony, something refreshing poured before dinner, a red that carries easily from the table into conversation. The mix is intentional — enough contrast to stay interesting, but cohesive enough that everything feels at home together.

As always, these bottles come from growers who value patience, place, and honest farming. Thank you for trusting us with a smaller, more curated selection and for continuing to support wines that are expressive, approachable, and full of character.

Here’s to simplicity, good pacing, and bottles that feel just right for the moment.

Cheers,
Holly

Club Pick 1

A free-form red from Domaine la Bohème, blending multiple varieties into a loose, expressive Vin de France. Fruit is sourced from different sites and fermented naturally, letting each grape bring its own shape and energy to the mix. Juicy and open-knit, the wine favors flow and immediacy over structure, with an easygoing feel that stays grounded and food-friendly.

Mixed red and dark fruit, black cherry, soft spice, light florals, gentle earth, supple finish

After a lifetime of experiences, Patrick Bouju settled in the Auvergne, releasing his first commercial vintage in 2002 and leaving his engineering job in 2008 to pursue winemaking full time.

Patrick's journey with wine began while he was a chemistry student in Clermont-Ferrand, where he discovered his aversion to classical wine due to his body's intolerance to sulfur. Inspired by low-intervention winemakers he met while in the military in Chalon-sur-Saône in 1994 and 1995, Patrick went on to study viticulture in Beaune.

After completing his studies, Patrick moved to the village of Glaine-Montaigut in the Auvergne, where he gradually started cultivating a small number of vines.

Region: Rhône,

"Clovis Wines is the result of a partnership between T Edward and select top-tier small producers in France. Clovis CDR is crafted by Remi Pouizin, a biodynamic vintner based in Visan, the northernmost region of the Southern Rhône. This blend combines grapes from Pouizin's estate with those of three other organic producers, all situated within a 10km radius of the winery. These vineyard parcels span elevations between 200 and 350 meters." - T Edward

Club Pick 3

A Spanish natural red wine with bold dark fruit flavors dominated by blackberry and plum with hints of red currant peeking through. Medium-bodied with refreshing acidity, it balances juicy fruit with grippy tannins that build on the finish. The lingering notes of black pepper and earth add complexity!

Pedro Rodríguez, the driving force behind Adegas Guímaro, embodies a deep-rooted passion for winemaking in the rugged Ribeira Sacra region. Continuing a family legacy, they cultivate their steep, terraced vineyards using age-old methods passed down from previous generations. Embracing their rebellious spirit, reflected in the name "Guímaro," meaning rebel in Gallego, they champion nearly-forgotten local grapes like Caiño and Brancellao. Beyond preserving history, their focus is on adapting to climate change, crafting wines that are not only delicious but also echo the distinct character of Ribeira Sacra. In the cellar, they adhere to traditional techniques, employing wild yeasts, foot treading, and minimal intervention.

Club Pick 4

A zero dosage sparkling made from organically and biodynamically farmed Merlot grown on high elevation marl soils. The grapes are hand harvested, gently pressed with brief skin contact, and fermented spontaneously. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle using frozen must from the same vintage, followed by three years on lees. No liqueur is added at disgorgement and sulfur is kept very low. The wine is precise and mineral, with fine texture and bright, driving acidity.

Region: Vipava, Slovenia

"Located in the Planina-Vipava valley, between Mediterranean and Alpine climates, Zmago Petrič carries on the traditions of his family – a family with generations of history in wine making. A proud winery covering 12 hectares, they take the local environment seriously: certified organic and biodynamic through Demeter, they treat the land like their own kid and grow predominantly indigenous varietals: zelen, pinela, and rebula along with some international varietals. By keeping crops small they they ensure the best expression of the varietals and the earth they come from. - Savio Soares Selections"

Club Pick 5

A short skin contact white from high altitude, clay limestone vineyards in Serra de Montejunto near the Atlantic. Mostly Vital with a small portion of Rabo de Ovelha, the grapes are hand harvested and macerated briefly before fermenting and aging in concrete. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, the wine is textured but bright, combining gentle grip with coastal freshness and a mineral edge.

COZs is the partnership of Portuguese natives Tiago Teles and António Marques da Cruz, founded in 2015 with a shared goal of reviving historic vineyards and native grapes in the Serra de Montejunto, just 15 km from the Atlantic Ocean in the Lisbon wine region.

Their story began with the purchase of a 60 year old Baga vineyard, followed by the limestone rich Vinha da Pena. In a region long shaped by conventional farming, COZs chose a different path, prioritizing organic agriculture and rethinking pruning and soil health. Today they work with six historic, high altitude sites planted mainly to Vital, with vines between 30 and 50 years old rooted in clay limestone soils.

Club Pick 6

A fresh, low alcohol expression from carefully farmed vineyards in the eastern Loire Valley. Made with a light touch in the cellar to preserve lift and drinkability, this wine focuses on brightness, gentle fruit, and easy texture rather than weight or power. Crisp and lively, it is designed for casual drinking with plenty of energy and refreshment.

Middle of the Road

Region: Loire, France

Vignobles Berthier is run by brothers Clément Berthier and Florian Berthier, fifth generation growers working in the heart of the central Loire. Their vineyards span Sancerre and Coteaux du Giennois, with additional fruit sourced from trusted friends in nearby appellations.

While Sauvignon Blanc makes up most of their plantings, the Berthier philosophy is not about varietal expression but about place. They focus on late harvesting and long lees aging to let soil and site take the lead over grape character. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2013, with certification achieved in 2022, reduced tillage, and a strong emphasis on soil health.
