Club Pick 1

An extra brut, vibrant sparkling wine made from 100% Blaufränkisch grapes, grown on the steep, mineral-rich slopes of Haloze Hills. Crafted using both traditional and modern techniques, the wine undergoes a brief 4-hour maceration, followed by a cold fermentation. Its secondary fermentation preserves freshness, resulting in a crisp and varietal-focused sparkling rosÊ with playful bubbles.

Upon completing agricultural school in 2002, Michael Gindl, born in 1983, harbored a steadfast determination to oversee the farm that has been in his family since 1807. Traditionally, the farm practiced mixed agriculture encompassing crops, livestock, forestry, and viticulture. Following his grandfather's untimely passing, Michael's mother assumed farm management duties while his father pursued a career as a food inspector. During his schooling, Michael took on the responsibility of vinification.

Concurrently, Michael embarked on a journey toward embracing biodynamic methods, leading to the farm's eventual certification as biodynamic. Since 2012, Highland cattle have been bred on the property, while horses are employed in the vineyards and wheat fields.

Meet Baptiste Bley, the heart and soul behind Clos Siguier, whose family’s deep-rooted connection to winemaking spans generations. Following the devastation of Phylloxera, Baptiste’s ancestors turned to livestock farming, with only a small place for wine production. But by the end of World War I, his great-grandfather, Edmond, revived the vineyards, selling wine in barrels to merchants in Toulouse and Bordeaux. The tradition continued through the 20th century, with Simon and Nicole Bley focusing on bottled wines and creating the brand "Le Clos Siguier." This name is inspired by a plot rich in iron, affectionately known as the "clos d’acier."
