About Xavier

Xavier Wines is the brainchild of Xavier Goodridge, hailing from Gippsland, Australia. Xavier's journey into winemaking began unexpectedly when he found himself managing a wine bar in London, UK, at the young age of 18. Upon returning to Australia, he delved into the study of winemaking, embarking on frequent travels to deepen his understanding of viticulture and oenology. His hands-on experience began as an assistant winemaker at Bress in Harcourt, Victoria, where he honed his skills in biodynamic farming and agriculture. In 2016, Xavier introduced his inaugural wines to the Australian market. Exhibiting a remarkable depth and intricacy, Xavier's wines reflect his thoughtful approach, yet remain refreshingly pure in character.

About the Region

Victoria, Australia

In the picturesque landscapes of Victoria, Australia, natural winemaking is a celebration of innovation and tradition. This diverse wine region, located in the southeastern corner of the continent, is renowned for its commitment to sustainability and experimentation. Here, amidst rolling hills, ancient soils, and a cool maritime climate, winemakers embrace organic and biodynamic farming practices, nurturing vines with care and respect for the land. Indigenous grape varieties such as Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Riesling thrive in Victoria's varied terroir, producing grapes of exceptional quality and character. In the cellar, minimal intervention is the guiding principle, with spontaneous fermentations and aging in neutral vessels allowing the true expression of the grapes and terroir to shine through. The resulting natural wines from Victoria are a testament to the region's rich winemaking heritage, with their vibrant flavors, elegant textures, and a sense of place that reflects the diversity and beauty of Australia's landscapes.
