The Producer

About Viña Echeverria

Originally established to produce bulk wines, in 1990, the winery shifted its focus to crafting quality wines for export. Echeverria quickly became one of the few boutique wineries in Chile and the first family winery from the country to sell wine to Harrods in London.

Over time, the family began purchasing grapes to enhance the complexity of their wines. "We realized that to succeed and stand out, we needed to be open," says Roberto Echeverria, the Technical Director and Chief Winemaker, whose first solo vintage appeared on the market in 2001. With sustainable practices in the vineyard, Echevarria produces wines to suit every palate while maintaining a philosophy rooted in consistency.

About the Region

Cuircó Valley, Chile

The Curicó Valley, situated in central Chile, is gaining recognition as a promising region for natural winemaking. With its diverse terroir, including coastal influences from the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains to the east, Curicó offers an ideal environment for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in the region prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating a variety of grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carménère with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that reflect the region's unique character and terroir. Curicó Valley's natural wines are known for their purity, freshness, and expression of fruit flavors, with reds offering ripe berry notes and soft tannins, and whites showcasing crisp acidity and vibrant citrus aromas. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Curicó Valley remains at the forefront of Chile's natural wine movement, offering a taste of its rich heritage and commitment to sustainable winemaking with each bottle.
