About Titerok-Akaet

Titerok-Akaet is a winery based in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, Spain, named after the island’s indigenous term meaning “burning mountain.” Working with old, volcanic vineyards near the sea, the estate focuses on expressing the island’s unique terroir. Wines are made with careful, low-intervention methods to highlight salinity, minerality, and freshness shaped by the harsh volcanic landscape.

About the Region

Canary Islands, Spain

In the remote and rugged landscapes of the Canary Islands, natural winemaking is both an art and a way of life. These volcanic islands off the coast of northwestern Africa boast a viticultural heritage as ancient as it is unique. Here, amid the volcanic soils and Atlantic breezes, winemakers practice organic and biodynamic farming methods with a deep respect for the land. Indigenous grape varieties such as Listán Negro, Listán Blanco, and Malvasía thrive in this harsh yet fertile terrain, producing grapes of exceptional quality and character. In the cellar, minimal intervention is the guiding principle, as winemakers allow spontaneous fermentations and aging in neutral vessels to reveal the true essence of the grapes and their terroir. The resulting natural wines from the Canary Islands are a testament to the islanders' ingenuity and resilience, offering a taste of the volcanic soils and oceanic influences that shape these captivating wines.
