Frank Cornelissen’s take on an approachable Sicilian white, first made in 2021 as a collaboration with musician Sondre Lerche. Catarratto from Alcamo, one of Frank’s favorite white wine areas on the island, joins Carricante and Grecanico d’Orato from Etna, all from vines over 30 years old. The grapes are destemmed, lightly crushed, and given about 3 hours on the skins before fermenting with native yeasts from a pied de cuve. Aged around 10 months in epoxy, unfined, and lightly filtered before bottling. Sulfur is added only when the vintage calls for it. A lighter style white with real character and sapidity.

Citrus, crisp apple, pear, white flowers, fine minerality

About Frank Cornelissen

Frank’s wines are like none we have ever tasted, and there is no doubt they have raised a stir throughout the industry. These wines express the absolutely unique land of Mt. Etna in a way that no other wine has. You really have to taste the wines and watch the color and flavor evolve in your glass to understand them.

About the Region

Sicily, Italy

Sicily is the ultimate wine playground, an island paradise where fiery Mount Etna meets cool ocean breezes. Think sunshine-soaked grapes ripening in volcanic soil, bold reds like Nero d'Avola (think juicy black cherry) and fragrant whites like Grillo (hello, citrus!). Beyond the classics, there's a treasure trove of unique native grapes. It's a place where history swirls in your glass, from ancient Greek techniques to delicious sun-dried Marsala. A beach bum's haven, and a wine lover's playground, all rolled into one!
