A varietal Cabernet Franc from the Sentio organic estate in Pécsely, grown on limestone and sandstone soils. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently destemmed into open fermentors, with partial semi-carbonic maceration. After 10 days, the wine is pressed and aged for 11 months in large oak barrels. Bottled with nothing added, it shows a pure and expressive style.

About Kolonia 52

Kolónia 52 is a small, biodynamic estate on Hungary’s Szent György-hegy, led by Annamária Török and Attila Francisti. Farming 3 ha of volcanic basalt soils, they craft low-intervention wines from Pinot Noir, Kékfrankos, Welschriesling and native grapes. Manual harvest, native ferments, no sulfur, and gravity-led élevage in neutral oak and amphora define their pure, expressive style.

About the Region

Balaton, Hungary

The Balaton wine region surrounds Lake Balaton, Central Europe’s largest lake, and is known for fresh, mineral-driven wines shaped by volcanic soils and a moderating lake climate. Key areas include Badacsony, Balatonfüred–Csopak, and Somló.

Signature grapes: Olaszrizling (Welschriesling), Furmint, Kéknyelű, plus Kékfrankos.

Expect crisp whites, smoky minerality, and vibrant acidity, with a growing natural wine scene.
