The Producer

About Conestabile della Staffa

The history of Conestabile della Staffa wines offers a glimpse into Umbrian culture guided by Danilo Marcucci, a master natural wine artisan. The estate, tied to his wife Alessandra's noble lineage, reflects centuries of Umbrian heritage. Originating from Orvieto and Perugia, the Conestabile and Della Staffa families united in an arranged marriage in the 1700s, aiming to consolidate land and influence in the region. At its peak in the 1800s, the property spanned over 700 hectares, with 100 hectares devoted to vineyards. The estate flourished as the most prominent winery in the Trasimeno-Perugino area, producing over 10,000 hectoliters annually. However, post-World War II, wine production declined.
