A limestone and quartz rooted blend from Burgenland that balances energy with finesse. Blaufränkisch brings acidity and crunch, while Cabernet Franc adds structure and lift. Hand harvested grapes macerate before fermenting with indigenous yeast, then age in large Stockinger barrel. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfur, the wine is smooth yet vibrant, with low alcohol reflecting balanced vineyards and precise farming.

Red cherry, cranberry, crushed herbs, white pepper, mineral edge, fresh acidity, fine tannin.

The Producer

About Christian Tschida

Christian Tschida tends 10 hectares of century-old vines in Burgenland, Austria, a region renowned for red and sweet wines. Benefiting from a diverse terroir of sandy gravel, schist, and limestone, influenced by nearby Lake Neusiedler, his vineyards thrive. Tschida's hands-off winemaking involves extended barrel aging, up to 5 years, allowing the wines to develop complexity. The use of a vertical basket press, applied with gentle pressure akin to a handshake, extracts only the finest juice. This meticulous process, coupled with Tschida's practice of returning must and juice to the vines, underscores his commitment to sustainable viticulture, nurturing his family's legacy for future generations.
