April 2023 | Red Club
Welcome to the April Red Club from MYSA Natural Wine!
A note from our founder:
First of all, apologies for the club going out late this month! Our warehouse had part of their client portal go down and it messed with all of our orders. We really appreciate you being a part of our club and being patient with us!
Second, Hooray for fun reds this month! We have another side-by-side of Cali Zin (let me know if y'all don't enjoy those because I always find them fascinating but maybe you just want variety!) then a classically delicious French red and a rare Meinklang that will make you go WHOA!
Third, while we're talking about feedback, we heard you on wanting shorter videos SO, we have a new format we're starting to implement on some wines and I hope you enjoy! Again, if you have feedback my inbox is always open: email@example.com

Meinklang is a lively farm compromising the three typical fields of a Pannonian farmstead in East Austria south of capital town Vienna: wine-growing, fruits and agriculture. Each family-member is specialized in an aspect of farming. Unique is the estate owns Angus & Aubrac cattle herd. It`s the farms source for our own nutritious, organic fertilizer for lively soils in the vineyards and creates the closed circle in the biodynamic Demeter farming. Outstanding issues are the totally unpruned vines, called «graupert» and the extended maturation in concrete egg-shaped containers. As well as the family initiated the first holistic Demeter brewery where we refine the ancient grain beer out of the old varieties called Einkorn and Emmer wheat. - Zev Rovine

About Glassmaker Wine Co.
Jonathan got his start in wine in the tasting rooms of the Salinas Valley “as a bored toddler eating oyster crackers off the floor while his father and friends casually imbibed glass after glass of the local red”, he recalls. From organic foods and fine cheese to the wines of France, Spain, and Italy, his curiosity in quality products led him to the soils of the vineyards of Sonoma, Marlborough, Lodi, CoCo. and Monterey. After a bit of blood and sweat at Brooklyn Oenology, Jonathan figured “it was time to put my money where my mouth was… and Glassmaker Wine Company is what happened!”... Their respectful management is a matter of course and includes organic or biodynamic practices and dry farming. This minimal input approach obviously extends to the cellar: the wines are all spontaneously fermented (both primary and malolactic fermentation), aged in old oak barrels, unfined and unfiltered, and made without any addition save for a tiny bit of sulfur. - Jenny & Francois

We have always been farmers who sold their wine to small shops or to the wine factories of Marsala, we have gradually transformed into grape producers, breaking that link that is the unavoidable vineyard / winery, the only way to obtain products of the highest quality. From 2013 the decision to resume the interrupted journey and in the light of the experiences made by me and my father, as enotecologists in time and on the territory, we have returned to producing wine.” Zev Rovine
