October 2026 - 3 Bottle Club

Rhizo Nomad Natural Orange Wine South Australia Australia Front

A Word From Our Founder

Hey there,

This month’s 3 Bottle Club is a little trio with a lot of range: a delicate Loire rosé, a funky skin-contact Riesling, and a deep, savory red from the mountains of southern Spain. They’re three very different wines, and all three are perfect for the shift into fall.

La Ferme des Confluences’ Epiphyllum is a bright, refreshing rosé made from two lesser-known grapes, Côt and Egiodola. Nomad’s Rhizo Riesling takes the classic Mosel grape in a textured, adventurous direction, and Bodega Cauzón’s Iradei brings dark fruit and earthy spice from high-altitude vineyards in Granada.

Start with the rosé while the afternoons are still mild, open the Riesling with a takeout curry or a cheese board, and save the Iradei for your first chilly night in.

Thanks for being part of the MYSA community and for supporting the independent growers behind every bottle.

Cheers,

Holly

Club Pick 1

Nomad is the two-hemisphere project of Pieter Kruger and Kosie van der Merwe, and Rhizō comes from their German side: 40-plus year old Riesling vines on the steep grey slate of Steffansberg in Kröv, Mosel. A funky Riesling three ways, 50% direct press, 44% with three weeks on skins, and 6% spending six months macerating, fermented naturally in acacia with nothing added. Peach, honey and real texture over a crisp slate spine.

Soft cheeses, roasted chicken, light Asian dishes.

Ripe peach, honey, light florals, crisp slate acidity with earthy undertones and a gently tannic finish.

Region: Elgin, South Africa

Pieter Kruger and Kosie Van Der Merwe own a negociant winery with operations in both Elgin, South Africa, and Mosel, Germany. This unique setup allows them to source grapes and produce wines in two distinct wine regions, each renowned for its own varietals and terroir. In Elgin, known for its cool climate, they have access to a diverse range of grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc. Meanwhile, in Mosel, famous for its Riesling, they can take advantage of the region's steep slopes and slate soils to create high-quality wines with a distinctive character. By owning and operating in both regions, Kruger and Van Der Merwe can explore different winemaking techniques and styles while showcasing the best of each region's unique characteristics.
