A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

January invites simplicity. A quieter rhythm, fewer distractions, and small moments that feel intentional. It is the perfect time to slow down, reset after the holidays, and enjoy wines that offer clarity, character, and comfort in equal measure.

This month’s three bottle selection is concise but expressive. Each wine brings its own sense of place and personality, offering depth without excess and freshness without austerity. Together, they create a balanced experience that feels thoughtful and complete, ideal for both reflective evenings and shared meals.

These bottles are meant to be opened with ease. No overthinking, no special occasion required. Just honest, well made wines that reward attention and invite you to stay present, whether you are enjoying a quiet night in or gathering around the table with friends.

As we step into a new year, we are grateful to begin it with you. Thank you for supporting independent producers and for trusting us to curate wines that feel intentional, exciting, and true to the moment.

Here’s to a calm, confident January and the year ahead.

Cheers,
Holly

Pieter Kruger and Kosie Van Der Merwe own a negociant winery with operations in both Elgin, South Africa, and Mosel, Germany. This unique setup allows them to source grapes and produce wines in two distinct wine regions, each renowned for its own varietals and terroir. In Elgin, known for its cool climate, they have access to a diverse range of grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc. Meanwhile, in Mosel, famous for its Riesling, they can take advantage of the region's steep slopes and slate soils to create high-quality wines with a distinctive character. By owning and operating in both regions, Kruger and Van Der Merwe can explore different winemaking techniques and styles while showcasing the best of each region's unique characteristics.

Papras Bio Wines  is operated by the Papras family. Stergios Papras, the family’s oenologist, has been a pioneer of organic viticulture in Greece. The family’s vineyards have been certified organic since 1990, one of the first to receive organic certification in Greece. The focus is on sparkling wines and the local “Black Muscat of Tyrnavos“. The terroir and the breeze from the nearby mount Olympus, make Tyrnavos ideal for sparkling and aromatic wines.- Eklektikon

Club Pick 3

A clean, mineral-driven white from Tokaj that highlights the natural tension and freshness of Furmint. Sourced from multiple vineyard sites with eroded loess soils mixed with volcanic material, this wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve clarity and acidity. Light on its feet, balanced, and precise, it leans into citrus, minerality, and crisp structure rather than richness or oak influence.
