A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

This month's 3 Bottle Club keeps things fresh, bright, and easy to enjoy, with three bottles that each bring something different to the table.

You'll find the juicy, expressive character of Grenache alongside the crisp, refreshing profile of Grüner Veltliner and the textured, vibrant style of a skin-contact Verdelho. Together, they make a fun little snapshot of the variety and creativity we love about natural wine.

Whether you're opening a bottle with dinner, sharing with friends, or simply enjoying a glass at the end of the day, this trio is made for relaxed summer drinking and a little discovery along the way.

Thank you for continuing to explore with us and for supporting the independent growers behind these bottles.

Cheers,

Holly

Poppelvej is the project of Danish brothers Jens and Uffe Deichmann. The name means “street of poplars,” referencing the street where they grew up in Denmark, and the original hand-painted sign from their great-great-grandfather now hangs in the winery.

Uffe moved to South Australia for a harvest and ended up staying after meeting his future wife, Nicole. The couple eventually settled in McLaren Vale, where Poppelvej was founded in 2016.

The wines are made from sustainably farmed vineyards in McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. Fermentations are low intervention with minimal additions, and the wines are typically bottled without fining or filtration. Production is small, around 4,000 cases annually, and the wines reflect both the creativity of their makers and the character of the region.

Club Pick 2

Frug Grüner Veltliner is a lively, highly drinkable white from the certified organic vineyards of Burgenland, Austria. Grown on gravel, chalk, and sandy clay soils, this wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation and malolactic aging in stainless steel. Bottled without filtration or fining, this natural wine bursts with varietal aromas of peaches, apples, and meadow flowers, balanced by refreshing acidity.

Fun Fact: Frug is named after a lively 1960s dance, fitting for this fun and vibrant wine bottled in a traditional 1-liter format—perfect for sharing and enjoying a little extra.

Ideal with light dishes, seafood, and a perfect match for asparagus in season.

Aromas of peaches, apricots, apples, meadow flowers, with a touch of herbs and lively acidity.

Frug is an exciting new addition to Jenny & Francois' lineup, featuring wines from an exclusive collaboration with carefully selected winemakers. These Austrian wines are not only kind to both nature and your budget but also come in a friendly 1-liter bottle, a nod to Central-European tradition for everyday drinking wines. The Wurzinger winery, located in the south-eastern part of Burgenland near the border with Hungary, was established by Josef's grandfather and taken over by Josef himself in 1991. He gradually transitioned the vineyard management to organic practices, obtaining certification in 2014.

Club Pick 3

A textured skin-contact Verdelho from a 20-year-old vineyard in Bot River, farmed sustainably on Koffieklip soils. Whole clusters undergo 16 days of carbonic maceration with native yeast in a single old 400L barrel, followed by 11 months of aging in the same barrel. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur.

Shellfish, grilled fish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, spicy dishes

Waxy texture, gentle phenolic grip, ripe fruit, subtle floral notes, lingering finish
