A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

April’s 3 Bottle Club brings together a small, thoughtful mix that highlights balance and versatility. This month’s selection offers a snapshot of different styles, with wines that feel fresh, expressive, and easy to enjoy.

The lineup moves between a vibrant red, an aromatic white, and a refreshing rosé. Each bottle brings its own character, from juicy fruit and soft structure to lifted aromatics and bright, easygoing freshness. Together, they create a simple but well-rounded set.

These are wines made for everyday moments. A glass at the end of the day, something to open with a meal, or a bottle to share without overthinking it. They’re approachable, flexible, and easy to return to.

Each wine comes from growers working with care and intention, focusing on thoughtful farming and minimal intervention. The result is wines that feel honest and connected to where they come from.

Thank you for being part of the club and for continuing to explore with us.

Here’s to a month of relaxed pours and easygoing moments.

Cheers,
Holly

Club Pick 1

A California red sourced from Rhodes Vineyard in Redwood Valley, an old vine site with deep roots in Mendocino. The blend focuses on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit from head-pruned vines known for small berries and concentration. Farmed with care and shaped by a thoughtful, evolving approach, the wine reflects both site and vintage with a balanced, expressive style.

Layering my passion for European natural wine and my knowledge of California viticulture and wine production, Subject to Change Wine Co was born as a way to connect my love of natural wine to my love of California, the land and the culture of growing and consuming locally. -Alex Pomerantz, Founder and Winemaker

Club Pick 2

A white blend from limestone soils in Volkach, led by Müller-Thurgau with Silvaner and Riesling. Grapes are foot-crushed and mostly direct-pressed, with a short maceration for a portion of the blend. Fermented with native yeasts and aged across stainless steel and oak, the wine rests on lees before bottling. Unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur, it shows a balanced, easygoing style.

2Naturkinder, spearheaded by Melanie Drese and Michael Völker, represents a dynamic shift in winemaking practices at their family winery established in 1843 along the banks of the river Main in northern Bavaria. Since taking the reins in 2012, they've revolutionized their approach, converting all 7 hectares of vineyards to organic farming methods. Their commitment extends beyond cultivation, as they craft wines without additives and eschew fining and filtering, exemplified even in their Vater & Sohn blend, which contains no added sulfites. Evolving from a parametric understanding to a holistic ethos, they view soil not merely as a substrate but as a living entity intricately connected to the ecosystem.

Club Pick 3

A pure, unfiltered expression of Austrian Blaufränkisch, the Naked Rosé from Gernot & Heike Heinrich embodies the winery’s commitment to natural winemaking. Sourced from organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards in Weinland, this lively rosé is fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and bottled unfined and unfiltered. The result is a beautifully textured, vibrant wine with a raw yet refined character.
