A Word From Our Founder

Hi friends,

April’s 12 Club brings together a lineup that feels especially lively and varied, with wines that move easily across styles, regions, and moods. This is a collection built for exploration, offering a wide spectrum while keeping a sense of balance and flow throughout.

To our longtime members, thank you for continuing to explore with us and for supporting these growers month after month. And to those joining the 12 Club for the first time, welcome. This box is all about discovery, with each bottle offering a different perspective on natural wine.

This month’s selection moves between bright, energetic reds, fresh and aromatic whites, textured skin-contact wines, and bottles with a bit of sparkle and lift. Some wines are immediate and fruit-driven, while others open more धीरेly, showing layers of texture, subtle spice, or gentle structure. There’s a rhythm to the mix that keeps things engaging without feeling overwhelming.

These are wines suited for a range of moments. A casual glass at the end of the day, something to share with friends, or a bottle that evolves over the course of a meal. They’re flexible, expressive, and easy to return to.

As always, these wines come from growers working with care and intention, focusing on thoughtful farming and minimal intervention in the cellar. The result is wines that feel honest, vibrant, and closely tied to where they come from.

Thank you for being part of the club and for continuing to support small producers.

Here’s to a month of variety, discovery, and shared bottles.

Cheers,
Holly

The wine is finished with minimal sulfur and no other additions, keeping the profile bright, lifted, and easygoing.

Joe Swick is a 5th generation Oregonian winemaker who captures the true taste of the Pacific Northwest through his wines. Joe sources his grapes from organic, biodynamic and sustainable vineyards in Oregon and Washington. After years of traveling and harvesting in various pockets of the world, such as Piedmont, Portugal, and Tasmania, Joe returned to Oregon to start his very own label in 2013. He embraces the minimal approach when making his wines such as using native yeasts, aging in old barrels and adding minimal sulphur during bottling—only when absolutely necessary. While Joe started out with a focus on making Oregon Pinot Noir, he now has explored many other grape varietals and experiments with different techniques during élevage.

Benjamin Taillandier, a visionary winemaker, embarked on his journey with a commitment to crafting wines that embody a unique philosophy. After completing winemaking school, Benjamin gained experience in a conventional winery before meeting natural winemaker Jean-Baptiste Senat in 2004. Inspired by Senat's innovative ideas and techniques, Benjamin pursued a similar winemaking philosophy.

In 2007, Benjamin returned to his family's hometown of Caunes-Minervois, located between Carcassonne and the Montagne Noire. He acquired 5.7 hectares of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, and Terret Gris, initially farming organically and later transitioning to biodynamics.
