Scheu

We want to produce wines that are not only good, but also wines that are fun with the second sip. Wines that are independent and individual, unique items that reflect the typicality of the vineyard. In other words, wines that uniquely reflect the natural conditions such as soil, microclimate and vintage. There are many good wines. Our wines are more, they are honest and authentic. - Scheu

The Region

Pfalz, Germany

The Pfalz region, located in southwestern Germany, is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, historic towns, and exceptional wines. In recent years, Pfalz has also become a prominent region for natural winemaking. With its diverse terroir, including sandy soils, limestone, and volcanic rock, Pfalz offers an ideal environment for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in the region prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that reflect the terroir's unique characteristics. Pfalz's natural wines are known for their purity, freshness, and expression of fruit flavors, with Rieslings offering vibrant acidity and citrus notes, and reds showcasing ripe berry flavors and silky textures. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Pfalz remains at the forefront of Germany's natural wine movement, offering a taste of its rich heritage and commitment to quality with every bottle.
