Poggiosecco, located in the Montalbano Hills of Chianti, Tuscany, is a certified organic (since 2004) and biodynamic (since 2009) winery run by Marco Filipello and Giuseppe Pluchino. The 12-hectare estate primarily cultivates Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet, along with smaller amounts of Malvasia, Vermentino, and Canaiolo. Their winemaking is based on biodynamic principles, using spontaneous fermentation, aging in concrete vats or oak barrels, and minimal intervention with no fining or filtration. Founded in 1967, the estate focuses on producing authentic Chianti wines that reflect their chalk and sandstone soils. The wines are bright, with rich fruit flavors, fine tannins, and a natural balance, making them ideal for pairing with a variety of Tuscan and Mediterranean dishes.
