About the Winemaker

Old Westminster

Established in 1985, the Baker family's journey into winemaking wasn't always a foregone conclusion. Jay and Virginia, the family's founders, harbored dreams of involving their children in their farm's legacy. As their three children—Drew, Lisa, and Ashli—pursued higher education, leaving the family nest empty, Jay and Virginia faced a pivotal decision: either put their land to use or seek another path. Recognizing their land's suitability for grapevines—rocky soil, elevation, ample sunshine, and constant breeze—the family pondered the idea of establishing a vineyard and winery together.
