February 2023 | 3 Bottle Club
Welcome to the February 3 Bottle Club from MYSA Natural Wine!
A note from our founder:
This month we have a LOT of heavy hitters, so great job being in the club :) First we have a super fun pet-nat from Purity that is as tasty as it looks! Then we have 2 big names in Italian and Spanish wine that are typically out of reach for the club that I was able to secure just enough to get into this club! If you loved these you can check out the others (while supplies last) as we have a whole group of Do.te and Microbio wines this month!

"Do.t.e. (down to earth) is an experimental entity that seeks alternative answers in the management of contemporary viticulture. It’s taking one step back in order to go two steps forward. A return to agricultural origins that clearly defines the present and realistically imagines the future. It’s the desire to stand out with wines that spontaneously expresses their reason for being —beyond statutes and production regulations— based on the foundational principles of the entire project: health, ethics, everyday life... Today we produce small quantities of different wines, thanks to a better experience and evolving taste, all handmade and bottled with the same designation —Vino*— the least noble but the only one favorable to the creative process." - Filippo & Francesca
Castilla Y Leon White - MicroBio

Welcome to the República Independiente del Verdejo under President Ismael Gozalo. Many know him for his work at Ossian, one of the more respectable houses in Rueda, where he was the winegrower and maker since founding it in 2004. Ismael’s family owns some of the oldest (between 100-200 years old) ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines, most of which in the town of Nieva, province of Segovia between 800-900 meters of altitud. Characterized by it’s sandy soils, these head trained vines have never seen any chemicals over the different generations that have cared for them. Though outside of the D.O. for never budging to the region’s modern and manipulative techniques, to this day Ossian remains one of the few organic producers in Rueda. Today, under the Pago de Carraovejas umbrella, Ossian continues to make some of the more interesting wines of the region but Ismael took his talent elsewhere, bringing his family’s most prized vineyards with him.
Lil' Monster Pet Nat - Purity
California - USA
A light cherry red-colored pétillant wine full of red-berry flavors, dark fruits, earth, and flint.
Pairings: Jamón de Teruel, Beef Braciole, Roasted Pork Shoulder
Serving Instructions: 38°- 45°
The name Frug comes from a 1960s dance, which is very shake-your-hips and vibrant like the wine itself, fitting also with the colorful label designed by our Jenny Lefcourt’s brother in cooperation and her husband. It was coined by Toni Silver, an artist and Austrian wine promoter who also connected us with the winery: “My brain always bounces around from the present back to the mid-20th century, as I am a retro kind of gal, so I just started thinking of party-drinking-dancing and started to remember some of the crazy 60’s dances – the Twist, Mashed Potato, the Frug!” Well, there you go: we bet this Austrian liter trio will make you dance as well. - Jenny & Francois
