About Lammidia

Lammidia Winemaker

Davide Gentile and Marco Giuliani, childhood friends in Abruzzo, reconnected after university, fueled by a shared passion for wine. Their winemaking journey, marked by love for natural methods and daring experimentation, distinguishes them. Operating without formal wine academy training, agronomists, or oenologists, Gentile and Giuliani embrace a hands-on approach, learning through trial and error in both vineyards and cellars. Their unconventional path began in 2010, marked by a challenging fermentation, leading them to seek the guidance of an expert grandma, skilled in dispelling the evil eye. The ritual proved successful, giving rise to Lammidia, aptly named after the Abruzzese dialect term for "evil eye." To taste their wines is to experience the outcome of their unorthodox journey, where each bottle reflects not only their dedication to natural winemaking but also the resilience and creativity born from their shared love for the craft.

About Finca Casa Balaguer

Finca Casa Balaguer Winemaker

Andres Carull, the current custodian of Finca Casa Balaguer, emerges as a distinctive winemaker with a captivating narrative deeply intertwined with the legacy of Rafa Bernabe, recognized as the father of natural wine in Valencia. Hailing from the winemaking town of Villena in Alicante, Andres' journey into the world of natural wine began with a revelatory sip in an unexpected locale – a bar in St. Emilion, Bordeaux. Struck by the unconventional beauty of a cloudy glass of wine, Andres embarked on a quest to bring such innovation back home, eventually leading him to the mentorship of Rafa Bernabe. As Andres took the reins of Finca Casa Balaguer from Rafa in 2013, the estate became synonymous with cutting-edge winemaking. The duo worked in tandem for three years until health concerns prompted Rafa to step away. Despite international offers, Rafa's commitment to local roots led him to choose Andres as his successor. Overcoming financial challenges with unwavering determination, Andres secured the estate and continued the legacy of crafting exceptional wines. Tasting the wines from Finca Casa Balaguer is not just a sensory experience; it's an immersion into the passion, resilience, and local authenticity that define Andres Carull's winemaking journey, making it a compelling and must-try expression of the terroir.

About Swick

Swick Winemaker

Joe Swick is a 5th generation Oregonian winemaker who captures the true taste of the Pacific Northwest through his wines. Joe sources his grapes from organic, biodynamic and sustainable vineyards in Oregon and Washington. After years of traveling and harvesting in various pockets of the world, such as Piedmont, Portugal, and Tasmania, Joe returned to Oregon to start his very own label in 2013. He embraces the minimal approach when making his wines such as using native yeasts, aging in old barrels and adding minimal sulphur during bottling—only when absolutely necessary. While Joe started out with a focus on making Oregon Pinot Noir, he now has explored many other grape varietals and experiments with different techniques during élevage.
