Orsola Monferrato Rosso 2022 is a certified vegan and USDA organic red wine crafted from Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Grown in biodynamic vineyards in the Gavi DOCG production area of Piemonte, the grapes are hand-harvested and undergo classic maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts for 15 days. The wine is then aged for 6 months on lees in stainless steel tanks, with light filtration and no fining, and no added sulfites. This results in a wine that is warm and soft on the palate, with ripe fruit aromas and a spicy finish, making it an excellent accompaniment for a variety of dishes.
Fun Fact: The vineyards used for Orsola Monferrato Rosso are worked by horses, an old-world practice that aligns with the estate's commitment to biodynamic farming. This method not only preserves the soil structure but also enhances the connection between the land and the wine.

About Orsola

Massimiliana works closely with their enologist Vincenzo to make the wines in the cantina. Together they have developed a method of making white wines without any added sulfur and without oxidative properties, a difficult feat for many involved in Natural Winemaking. They attribute much of their success in this endeavor to the health of the soil and grapes afforded by Henry’s biodynamic work.
