The Producer

About Chateau Lafitte

Nestled between Pau and Oloron Sainte-Marie lies the historic Château Lafitte, steeped in viticultural heritage dating back to the 14th century. Under the stewardship of Philippe and Brigitte Arraou, the estate witnessed a revival of winemaking traditions. Today, their son Antoine carries forth the legacy, steering the estate towards a more natural ethos, epitomized by Demeter certification across its 5 hectares. Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng vines flourish in the clay and limestone soils, their bounty channeled into a new winery constructed in 2018. Embracing sustainability with solar power, gravity-fed systems, and rainwater harvesting, Château Lafitte pioneers innovative techniques, from amphora aging to experimental macerated whites and pet-nats.
