Producer Profile

Scheuermann

"We don't craft German wine. We create Pfalz wine. But in a Loire style."

Gabriel Scheuermann's winemaking aspirations began in kindergarten, where he confidently shared his career ambitions with his teacher. He humorously recalls how, in class, his older brother Simon favored the green tractor, leaving him destined for the vineyards. A decade later, at just 16 and 19 years old respectively, the brothers assumed control of the family winery.

Fast forward ten years, and Gabriel and Simon are now renowned for producing exceptionally expressive natural wines. Their cuvées exude the essence of limestone, exhibiting a graceful lightness. So effortlessly enjoyable, you'll find yourself finishing the bottle before you realize it.

Where The Wines Come From

Pfalz

The Pfalz region, located in southwestern Germany, is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, historic towns, and exceptional wines. In recent years, Pfalz has also become a prominent region for natural winemaking. With its diverse terroir, including sandy soils, limestone, and volcanic rock, Pfalz offers an ideal environment for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in the region prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that reflect the terroir's unique characteristics. Pfalz's natural wines are known for their purity, freshness, and expression of fruit flavors, with Rieslings offering vibrant acidity and citrus notes, and reds showcasing ripe berry flavors and silky textures. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Pfalz remains at the forefront of Germany's natural wine movement, offering a taste of its rich heritage and commitment to quality with every bottle.
