Producer Profile

Bauer

In the Grossriedenthal area of the Wagram region, Josef Bauer and his wife Eva Maria are the talented winemakers behind Weingut Familie Bauer. Committed to environmental consciousness, they nurture the natural diversity of their landscape by employing green coverings of existing flora, reflecting the terroir in their wines.

Their modern cellar is home to crafting crisp, clean wines from their 17 hectares of vines, with Grüner Veltliner and Roter Veltliner shining as the stars of the vineyard. Additionally, they produce Spätburgunder, Zweigelt, Merlot, Blauburger, Riesling, and other varietals. - Savio Soares Selections

Where The Wines Come From

Weinland

In the heart of Europe lies Weinland, a diverse and dynamic region encompassing Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. This historic wine-producing area is gaining recognition for its commitment to natural winemaking practices. From the steep terraced vineyards of the Wachau in Austria to the picturesque slopes of the Mosel in Germany and the rolling hills of the Swiss Alps, Weinland's winemakers embrace sustainable and organic farming methods to cultivate their vines. They eschew chemical additives and manipulation in the cellar, allowing the grapes to ferment spontaneously and express their true character. The result is a wide range of vibrant and expressive wines that reflect the unique terroir of each region. From crisp, aromatic whites to elegant, earthy reds and delicate sparkling wines, Weinland's natural wines capture the essence of the region's rich cultural heritage and its deep-rooted connection to the land. As the demand for authentic, terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Weinland stands as a beacon of innovation and tradition in the world of natural winemaking.
