Some Young Punks

"Despite the constant of aging and now a duo, nothing else has really changed. On inception, it was often quipped that vineyards were too expensive for a small company that already couldn’t afford to drink as well as they would like to. The penchant I believe these days is for Burgundy and Barolo which explains as to why they are still devoid of vineyard holdings. Fruit is sourced from conventionally grown vineyards throughout SA. Winemaking is still pretty chill, not minimalist etc… see above for vitriol on lauded educations. Regional, affordable, fun wines are still the MO." - Vine St. Imports

About the Winemaker

Some Young Punks

Despite the passage of time and now operating as a duo, the core philosophy remains unchanged. From the beginning, the high cost of vineyards made ownership an impractical dream for a small company that couldn’t afford to indulge in their preferred Burgundy and Barolo wines. This financial reality explains why they still do not own any vineyards. Instead, they source fruit from conventionally grown vineyards throughout South Africa. Their winemaking approach remains relaxed and unpretentious, not strictly minimalist but certainly not bound by formal education or traditional accolades. The focus continues to be on creating regional, affordable, and enjoyable wines that reflect their original mission.
