Aldo Marenco

The history of our vineyards is the history of our family, the Marencos, strongly rooted in Dogliani, a hamlet of the Langhe territory which has ever been bound to wine. At present, our vineyard stretches out on 25 hectares of land whereof 12 are dedicated to the wine blends (Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Nascetta, Merlot) in the subarea “Madonna delle Grazie”, at an average height of 400-500 meters above the sea level.
From our vineyards we obtain tasteful, genuine, fragrant and delicious wines that deserve to be discovered. All of them bear a designation of origin and are labelled with the same names of their vineyards.
On the whole we produce 70-80.000 bottles per year. They are all carefully checked in the cellar and allocated to a selected market made of importers, restaurants, wine shops, wine bars, specialized shops and private consumers in Italy and around the world. - Aldo Marenco

About the Winemaker

Aldo Marenco

The history of our vineyards mirrors the journey of our family, the Marencos, deeply connected to Dogliani, a village in the Langhe region with a rich wine tradition. From my great-grandfather Francesco to my parents Aldo and Bruna, and now myself, Claudio, our dedication to the land has been unwavering. Since the 1970s, wine has been at the heart of our daily lives, leading to the expansion of our vineyards and advancements in winemaking techniques. Despite our modernization, we remain true to our peasant roots, prioritizing respect for nature and meticulous vineyard care without the use of harmful treatments. This commitment to innovation earned us the Organic Competence Certification in 1991, making us pioneers in organic winemaking.

The Region

Langhe, Italy

The Langhe region, nestled in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, rolling hills, and prestigious wines. In recent years, the area has also become a hub for natural winemaking. With its diverse terroir, including limestone and clay soils, and a continental climate, Langhe offers an ideal environment for sustainable viticulture. Natural winemakers in the region prioritize organic and biodynamic farming methods, cultivating indigenous grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto with minimal intervention. By eschewing chemical additives and focusing on natural fermentation, they produce wines that express the true essence of the land. Langhe's natural wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and sense of place, with Nebbiolo-based wines offering delicate floral aromatics, firm tannins, and red fruit flavors, while Barbera and Dolcetto wines showcase bright acidity and ripe fruit characteristics. As the demand for authentic and terroir-driven wines continues to grow, Langhe remains a benchmark for quality and innovation in the world of natural winemaking.
