Order here for 3 bottles of curated sparkling wines, then head over to the Jasper Hill website to add the cheese, crackers, and book to round out your evening!

We will be joined by wine writer Zachary Sussman, author of Sparkling Wines for Modern Times and expert in all things effervescent to zoom into one of our all-time favorite wine cheese pairings. Purchasers of the cheese kit from Jasper Hill will get 5 incredible cheeses, a box of Onesto Sea Salt Crackers, and a copy of Sparkling Wines for Modern Times.

Important note: the MYSA team will only be shipping the wine for this class. Please purchase the cheese and book kit from Jasper Hill to access all your tasting materials.

We worked with Zachary and the Jasper Hill team to put together a beautiful 3-pack of wines that showcase the incredible breadth of sparkling wines, from a classic Loire Valley Chenin to an experimental cuveè from Maryland.

  • La Bulle Du Facteur (Fabien Brutot) — Loire, Vouvray — Chenin Blanc
  • Meinklang Foam — Austria, Burgenland — Pinot Gris
  • Old Westminster Just Peachy — USA, Maryland — Albariño, Pinot Gris, Co-fermented with peaches

Bonus: the cost of this 3-pack includes shipping!

The Jasper team pulled together a wide stylistic array from our Cellars to enjoy with the sparkling wine selections.

  • Sparkling Wines for Modern TimesYou can’t have a lively discussion with an author unless you get to reference the book they’ve worked so hard to compile. We’re including this fun, thorough travel companion to the world of sparkling wine so that you might continue to explore, taste, and build a relationship with every type of bubbly you encounter.

  • Whitney (6 oz. wedge) — Whitney has a dense, incredibly supple paste and a peachy wine-washed rind. Whitney is meaty, sweet, and slightly funky, but these bold flavors are balanced out by its buttery smoothness.

  • Harbison Mini (5 oz wheel) — A spreadable bloomy-rind cheese wrapped in spruce bark, made by Jasper Hill Farm. Savory and vegetal, with a spoonable texture and a lingering sweet-cream finish.

  • Willoughby (8-ounce wheel) — A pudgy, buttery washed-rind round with notes of boozy fruit & roasted meat.

  • Cabot Clothbound Cheddar (6oz wedge) — An approachable but complex natural-rind, bandaged cheddar with a crumbly texture and nutty aroma. The flavor is deeply savory and slightly tangy, with caramel sweetness to the finish.

  • Little Hosmer (4 oz. wheel) — A nuanced soft-ripened cheese. Beneath its thin, bloomy-rind lies a gooey, milky core showing a complex array of flavors at peak ripeness: cauliflower, crème fraiche, and toasted nuts.

  • Onesto Sea Salt Crackers (4 oz box)— The best gluten-free crackers we’ve ever tried, and they’re made in Vermont, to boot! Seriously — these light, crispy, perfectly-salted crackers have been known to fool even the most skeptical, die-hard gluten fans.

Our team is joined by Zachary Sussman, a Brooklyn-based wine writer, educator, and consultant whose work has appeared in Saveur, Food & Wine, Wine & Spirits, The World of Fine Wine, and The Wall Street Journal Magazine, among many others. His newest ourvre, Sparkling Wines for Modern Times, casts a lens on this nuanced world of vinous effervescence and explores the category’s cornucopia of methods and styles.

Over here at the MYSA HQ, we love pairing bubbles with just about everything! That said, it's not always as simple as just reaching for the nearest bottle of sparkling wine without considering what you'll be pairing with it. When it comes to a nuanced food with its own terroir like cheese, it's important to consider the characteristics of both the cheese and the wine.
