Fleurie ‘Clos de la Grand Cour' 2019

$49.95 Sale Save

Named an “exotic beauty” by importers and “naughty” by others. This red is perhaps the most rustic and understated in the Jean-Louis’ range. Elegant aromas of crisp strawberries, flowers and sweet lemons. Although stunning as is, it could reach its full potential with age!

About Dutraive

Fleurie, distinguished as one of Beaujolais' most refined appellations, is nestled in the northern sector alongside other esteemed crus. Its terroir is marked by intricate soils, predominantly schist and granite, underpinning Jean-Louis Dutraive's vines in granite-rich earth, except for the limestone-based Brouilly. Spanning elevations from 250 to 500 meters, the vineyards boast diverse topography, with Dutraive's vines conveniently situated a short walk from the town center at around 300 meters. Despite Beaujolais' semi-continental climate, warmer than much of Burgundy, cooling breezes from the eastern foothills of the Massif Central provide respite in the evenings. This distinctive blend of soil, elevation, and climate imparts a unique elegance to Fleurie wines.
