Producer Profile

Bodegas Y Vinedos Pigar

"Juan's family owns vineyards in and around Requena but after meeting Mariano and tasting the magic the couple found their path as winemakers. You're probably asking yourselves why they have so much Chardonnay and the answer is quite simple. Utiel-Requena is an authorized Cava region and for this reason their family planted so much Chardonnay. That said, they are also working with/recovering some of the region's indigenous grape varieties like Tardana, Tortusi, Royal, and of course, Bobal. They practices organic viticulture and their winemaking is as radical as Mariano's. Pure fermented grape juice, nothing else." - Selections de la Vina
