Producer Profile

Bodegas y Vinedos Garay

Ana and Mario's journey into winemaking began unexpectedly in Huelva, where their shared roots intertwined with their passion for wine. Mario, originally from the Bierzo region, had long harbored a desire to produce wine but lacked the means until fate intervened with a fortuitous game show win of €100k. With this windfall, he acquired three of La Palma del Condado's oldest vineyards, nestled in the heart of the Condado de Huelva DO. Embracing organic practices, Mario's vineyards stand out among his neighbors, their calcareous soils imparting a distinct salty ocean influence to his wines. Though the 2014 vintage was brief, it offered a glimpse into the promising future of Bodegas Garay's creations. Mario's wines, including Bleu, Red, and Negro Roto.
