GULP Orange - Bodegas Parra Jimenez

La Mancha - Spain

Description:

Our first ever liter bottle of orange wine in a club! It really is the perfect fit for this type of season. Half Verdejo, half Sauvignon Blanc which is super traditional for this region. But it's not as traditional to have it with skin contact! Spent time on the skins for 5-7 days in 200L clay vessels and 4,000L used French oak vats with daily pump-overs. On the nose, grapefruit, citrus notes, it also has a little bit of herbaceousness to it. Refreshing and vibrant. The Sauvignon Blanc plays like first fiddle on the nose, the Verdejo really comes out more on the palate. The mouth feel is round and it has a great amount of texture. This wine definitely has a great tannic structure. You can really feel it coating your entire mouth and the finish is long. Notes of lychee, orange, floral, stone fruit, and peach. Extremely gulpable! Pairing wise, pork chops is the first thing that comes to mind, cheese, or even a board with hummus and tzatziki.

Pairings: Fish Tacos, Grilled Shrimp, Tapas

Serving Temperature: 48°- 52°

Tears of Vulcan - Day Wines

Oregon - USA

Description:
Inspired by Sicilian orange wine. 23 days of skin contact! Beautifully deep orange in color. This skin contact orignates from volcanic soils in Willamette. Tea notes on the nose, burnt orange peel, lime, and herbs. Very complex with a strong finish. Strong but not overpowering tannin. Bursts of minerality, grapefruit, floral, and dried herbs. A serious, real deal, orange wine! Try with grilled chicken, pork chops, ratatouille, or anything charred!

Pairings:
Salmon, Cheese Plate, Cured Meat

Serving Temperature: 48°- 52°

EleFanta Orange - Lindenlaub

Alsace - France

Description:

A very orange, very fruity Auxerrois from Alsace! 2 and a half weeks spent on the skins. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon, lime, tea, green crisp apples, floral, and some yellow apple. Crisp, juicy flavors similar to those on the nose. The tannin is still present but a phenolic bitterness is really present here. A really nice mouthfeel with a medium body. We enjoyed this description of it: "Starts with an innocent rush, like a sip of Fanta, and finishes dry, like a proper adult beverage". Great alone or pair with a mezze platter, BBQ, hot dog, or even schnitzel.

Pairings: Charcuterie, Pasta, Starches

Serving Instructions: 48°- 52°

About Lindenlaub

Christophe Lindenlaub makes his wine in Dorlisheim, a large village on the Alsace wine route, 20kms to the west and a touch south of Strasbourg. It is definitely not one of these picture postcard Alsace “villages” and is partially joined to the town of Molsheim to the north. It’s a working village, not a tourist village. He is the definition of a bundle of positive energy. He broadcasts total enthusiasm and a strong drive towards the future and what tomorrow is going to bring. Visits to the winery and encounters at wine fairs, leave you with a slice of the Lindenlaub enthusiasm and energy. This comes on the foundation of the Lindenlaub family running their vineyards since the 18th century.

Wines of Anarchy Bianco - Cirelli

Abruzzo - Italy

Description:

An extra brut style sparkling wine that gives just enough fizz without overpowering the crisp apples and minerals you also get on the palate. 7 days of skin contact. The nose gives off orange peel, floral, camomile, and a touch of nuttiness. Flavors of everything we smelt on the nose plus creaminess, light fruit, lemon peel, and a savouriness. This is a fun and slightly funky wine to put with creative foods or by itself. Try with appetizers, cheese board, or cold pasta.

Pairings: Salads, Asian Food, Seafood

Serving Instructions: 42°- 48°

About Cirelli
