Welcome to the January Red Club from MYSA Natural Wine! 

A note from our founder:

Happy New Year from all (3) of us at MYSA! Whether you just joined or have been with us for ages, we're so excited to be starting this year off with you and what a gorgeous group of wines it is to start! As we mentioned on the card, we've been working closely with Isabelle Legeron from RAW WINE lately and were introduced to her friend and importer Didier from Nomadic, where you'll see most of your wines came from this month. 

All of the wines are exciting this month, but I want to put a special highlight on the Nacht. Everyone in natural wine knows Meinklang, but I truly believe this is the most special bottling they've ever made, and we got just enough for y'all! The Valpolicella is also quite special, so save it for a romantic meal or fancy night in!

Burgenland - Austria


A great balance of acidity, juiciness, and freshness! Aged in concrete eggs for 9 months. You'll experience herbal notes, rhubarb, apple, and red fruit. Tasty and unique! 

Pairings: Pasta, BBQ, Pork

Serving Temperature: 48°- 52° 

About Meinklang

Meinklang is a lively farm compromising the three typical fields of a Pannonian farmstead in East Austria south of capital town Vienna: wine-growing, fruits and agriculture. Each family-member is specialized in an aspect of farming. Unique is the estate owns Angus & Aubrac cattle herd. It`s the farms source for our own nutritious, organic fertilizer for lively soils in the vineyards and creates the closed circle in the biodynamic Demeter farming. Outstanding issues are the totally unpruned vines, called «graupert» and the extended maturation in concrete egg-shaped containers. As well as the family initiated the first holistic Demeter brewery where we refine the ancient grain beer out of the old varieties called Einkorn and Emmer wheat. - From Zev Rovine

Veneto - Italy


Ruby red with shimmers of purple, this red is extremely fresh! It has a great acidity paired with silky smooth tannin. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and pairs great alongside cheese plates, grilled red meat, and cured meat. Tons of floral and ripe red fruit with hints of spice. 

Pairings: Red Meat, Cured Meat, Cheese Plate

Serving Instructions: 50°- 55° 

About Società Agricola il Sasso


“The vineyard is where it all begins, 10 hectares in one of the most suitable areas of the historic Valpolicella, 300 meters above sea level. Our vineyards of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella are trained in Guyot on south-facing hilly terraces. The ground is rough, almost completely rocky, a few centimeters of grass and then, below, the typical yellow calcarenite often present in the hilly outcrops of Valpolicella. The entire vineyard is cultivated according to the dictates of organic farming and much has been done to increase the biodiversity and vitality of the soil. Constant green manuring and replanting of wild species all around the vineyards have recreated an extremely fertile and vital environment. We choose the best bunches at the right degree of ripeness and harvest by hand, in 7 kg crates." - Società Agricola il Sasso

Languedoc - France


A Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend that spends 1-year aging in oak barrels. On the nose, strong aromatics of lively red fruit such as cherry with hints of vanilla. Medium-plus on the body with a dry finish. Hints of red fruit, earth, vanilla, and soft tannins. 

Pairings: Ribs, Steak, Meatballs

Serving Instructions: 50°- 55° 

About Domaine du Temps 

The domaine is about 12 Ha of grappes lost in the garrigue. We are using Biodynamie and we let our animals free in the area. Our wines are naturally made, no chemicals but a lot of love. - Les Vignes du Domaine du Temps

Fronton - France


Negrette isn't a typical grape to find outside of bulk wine from Southwest France, but this is an epic example of what it can do when it's given the love and care it deserves! Anne Arbeau, mother and PhD in Fluid Mechanics took over her family's wine business in 2004 and never looked back! With semi-carbonic, this wine is juicy to the max with bright fruit and violets to start then a heartier finish with leather and pepper. 

Pairings: Stews, Duck, Pork

Together, Anne and Géraud Arbeau, brother and sister, are continuing to write the family history begun by their ancestor Pierre a century ago. Care of the vines, winemaking and the sales side as well, the pair never stop.
