About Domaine de Pajot

Domaine de Pajot is family owned and located in the region of Gascogne in the southwest of France. Gascogne is known known for its nice lifestyle. The Barreau family has run Pajot for three generations. Damien Barreau is the present manager: "In the good old days, my grandfather used to work with a plow pulled by a horse, then my father used a tractor and it was somewhat easier... Thanks to their hard work, I can stay and live on the property, keep up their passion and share it with you through our Armagnacs, our wines and our apéritifs. I have been inspired by their common sense, that is why I have chosen biological agriculture. Indeed biological wine growing is a choice which enables to combine durable investment, clean nature and commitment to protect my customers' health. For me this concern is essential and very exciting even if it implies more work So, I have gone back to the good old observation of natural elements such as water, soil, climate, vine stocks and this determines my way of working. Yet this is not written on our bottles!" Pajot has eighty acres of vines that grow on slopes with light soil composed of fawn sands and fine silts. They grow region's white grapes of Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Gros Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc as well as Merlot and Cabernet red grapes. The vines are cared for year round to ensure quality grapes for vinification. - Cream Wine.
