PARTY CASE WINES

Included in our case of natural wine to pair with the raclette party is 4 bottles of each of the following:

  • Tradicional Brut Rose Clos Lentiscus - Aged bubbles from "The Bubble Man" himself! Lively and powerful with pleasant bubbles. Super fresh with Mediterranean notes of ripe fruit. Bubbles are ALWAYS a good choice for raclette.

  • Frei Korper Kultur - You might not think of Germany for a raclette pairing, but this is THE best red you could possibly put with this spread. A dark but still light liter bottle of fruity goodness from the Rheinhessen. The nose is vibrant with red cherry and hints of rhubarb. Quite light yet still very acidic and lively. Perfect for sharing!

  • White MSM Vivanterre - The hype is real and justified with these collab wines via Patrick Bouju! This White MSM explodes with citrus, specifically lemon zest and Meyer lemon. Made with 100% Melon de Bourgogne grapes, this wine spends time underground in glass globes where natural fermentation and the elevage occurred. Perfect still white for this party!

AGAIN, don't forget to purchase the rest of the set separately from Jasper Hill, outlined below!

THE ULTIMATE RACLETTE PARTY COLLECTION

The box from Jasper Hill (click here to purchase) includes:

  • Boska Raclette Quattro — “Having some friends or family over? Make it a raclette night! With this Raclette Quattro Concrete, suitable for a quarter wheel of Raclette cheese, you’ll be all set up in no time! The white ceramic cap directs the heat from the heat lamp onto the cheese, so it’ll melt just right. And of course, you’ve got to serve a traditional Swiss dish like raclette in style. That’s why you want this retro raclette set. Thanks to the copper twist and the robust appearance, this is a true eyecatcher for your dining table. The concrete base ensures that the raclette remains sturdy and stable on every surface. Not for nothing, but this raclette even won a Red Dot Design Award! Get this absolute winner for yourself or give it as a collective gift to your family or friends. It comes in a fantastic gift box.”

  • Whitney Quarter-Wheel (approximately 4 pounds) — Our prized melter is the superstar centerpiece of our Raclette Party. Whitney is meaty, sweet, and slightly funky, but these bold flavors are balanced out by its buttery smoothness. Upgrade to a whole wheel (approximately 16 pounds) — For the true turophile — go all the way with the ultimate upgrade.

  • Blake Hill Preserves Savory Onion Confit (10 oz. jar) — Made in Vermont by Blake Hill Preserves in partnership with Jasper Hill Farm, this preserve is designed to pair with the Alpine-style cheeses in our collection.

  • Vermont Quince Mustard (9 oz. jar) — A whole-grain mustard made with quince for a balanced tangy and sweet profile.

  • Pitchfork Pickle Spicy Squickles (16 oz. jar) — Squickles are the pickle you didn't know you craved. Garlic and chili flake compliment the sweet crunchiness of butternut squash.

  • Pinup Pickles Dilly Beans (8 oz. jar) — Pinup Pickles is a Vermont-based, small-batch artisan pickle maker. Their mission seeks to use local produce to create and share products with a unique Vermont flavor.

  • Lady Edison Extra-Fancy Country Ham (3 oz., thinly sliced) — Dry-cured, this ham is a 3-way heritage cross between Berkshire, Chester White, and Duroc and shows exceptional marbling. Pasture-raised in North Carolina

  • Babette’s Table Saucisson Sec (5 oz. salami) — Old-world style, slow-cured salami made with local, pasture-raised pork. Pairs beautifully with any of our cheeses. (5 oz.)

  • Virtual Experience — Recipients of The Ultimate Raclette Party are entitled to some face time with a cheese expert from our team. Schedule a chat about party prep or, perhaps, invite us to join for a toast at your most excellent cheesy gathering.

About Natural Wine

Great question! There are a lot of definitions for natural wine with the main term you'll hear being that it has had minimal intervention. To be more specific, our definition is that the wine must first be sustainably farmed, which typically means it was organically or biodynamically farmed.

Then, in the cellar the natural winemaking process has some differences as well! The wine is typically unfined, unfiltered, and goes through spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. If you want to know more about what natural wine is, we have an entire guide under our reference section!

The short answer is that natural wine can taste like any other kind of conventional wine (we like to call these stealth natural wines) or it can taste quite a bit different, as production methods can vary and potentially be lighter, or in a style you've never had before (like orange, pet-nat or amphora).

The natural wine community is also more accepting of some qualities in wines that conventional would consider a flaw, like Brett, some oxidation, or volatile acidity. We would consider these in high amounts to also be a flaw, but in many cases a touch of these qualities can ultimately improve their flavor and texture and be happily accepted in a natural wine.

To find out more about what natural wine tastes like, check out our full blog and podcast on the topic here.

The short answer is, no! But many are. Glou-glou describes winesthat are easily chuggable, impossible to put the glass down, and seductively delicious! They tend to be young and fresh, designed to be drunk early with an average ABV of around 10%. Check out different styles or glou glou natural wine here on our site.
